Thatched umbrellas
Eight thatch tiles and a cone on a metal ring frame. They have the look of a traditional thatched umbrella and are repaired by changing a single piece.

The system
The structure is a metal ring frame with spokes on a timber post. Eight African thatch tiles – the same ones we use on pergolas – hook on top, and a cone finishes off the tip.
The best part comes with the years: when sun and salt air take their toll on a tile, you change that tile. The umbrella is neither thrown away nor taken apart.
Why tiles
A hotel or a beach bar can’t close for a week to rebuild its umbrellas. This system is made for exactly that.
They arrive unassembled and go together on the ring frame in about three minutes per umbrella.
Only the damaged tile is replaced; the rest of the umbrella stays in service.
African thatch gives a finer finish than heather or esparto grass, for high-end gardens and hotels.
Tiles, ring frames and posts travel separately and are assembled at their destination.
